Metastatic, or stage 4, breast cancer means the cancer has spread to other parts of the body. Fortunatly(in a way of course!!!) is wide spread in the skeleton but not any major organs or any other soft tissue! Stage 4 breast cancer means the cancer has spread, or metastasized, beyond the breast and nearby lymph nodes to other parts of the body, like the liver, bones, lungs, brain or other life expectancy statistics. Many people continue to live long, productive lives with breast cancer in this stage.
